Amazing Race Entry 7
Hey it's Redmango! We are off to our last location. :-( We are heading back to the United States. We are going to Colorado to the Colorado Plateau. The capital is Denver. Canada and Mexico border the U.S. The Atlantic and Pacific Ocean border the United States. The GPS coordinates are N 37 and W -110. The climate is depended on the elevation of the mountains. When the mountains elevation goes up the temperature goes down and they get more precipitation. The Colorado Plateau is actually a huge basin that is filled with plateaus. The Anasazi Indians lived in the Colorado plateau for 200 to 700 years. Also in 1776-1777 Dominguez and Escalante were unsuccessful on there trip to find a route to California but they went to through the Colorado Plateau. The distance between Oslo, Norway and Denver, Colorado is 4,656.92 miles. This was our last plane flight. It cost about 850 dollars. It was the best thing that has ever happened to me. It was very exciting. I learned that there is a difference in every location you go to some locations have water some have deserts. Some have boats and ports some have cars. They are just as glad as I am. I got a little homesick but it is all better now that I am on my way home.

Amazing Race Entry 6
Hey it's Redmango! The next location we are going is the Hardangervidda plateau in Norway. The capital of Norway is Oslo. Sweden, Finland and Russia border Norway. The Norwegian Sea, Barents Sea, North Sea and the Atlantic Ocean all border Norway. The GPS coordinates are Latitude: 59° 53' 60 N, Longitude: 10° 40' 60 E. Norway has a humid climate. Also because of the city's northern latitude, daylight varies from more than 18 hours in midsummer to around 6 hours in midwinter. Even though the location is up north the climate is mild through out the year. 24% of Norway in covered in forest. The coastline is fringed with islands. The mountains and plateaus are intersected by fertile valleys. The first settlers that came across Norway lived there about 11,000 years ago. The time period from 800–1066 was and is referred to as the Viking age. The black death arrived in Norway in 1349 killing perhaps half the population. Norway has great fishing. There are 40 species of pike that they fish for. The distance between Chile and Norway is 7,994.68. We flew to Norway. The cost was 1200 dollars. No we didn't have any troubles with our flight. There really isn't that much of a difference between the 2 countries just the difference in location.

Amazing Race Entry 5
Hey it's Redmango! The next place that I am visiting is the Atacama Plateau in Chile. Santiago De Chile is the capital of Chile. The countries that border Chile are Peru on the north, Argentina on the east and Bolivia on the northeast. Chile is also bordered by the Pacific Ocean. The coordinates are 33º 27' S, 70º 40' W. In summer (December through February) daytime temperatures show 27° Celsius, with highs of 30°, and at night they drop to 16°. These temperatures vary in winter (June through August), with 22° in the daytime and 4° average at night with lows about 8° below. Also the rainy season is from January to March. In Chile there are 358 airports, 80,505 Km of highway and if you want to travel by boat they are many ports and harbors to travel to and from. The distance between Kunming and the Atacama Plateau is 11,609.65 miles. We got there by plane. There were no lay overs. We used delta air lines. It cost about 8,000 dollars. I feel really good about our travels I had fun on the way over it was very pretty when you looked out the window.

Amazing Race Entry 4
Hey it's Redmango! Our next stop is at the Dakar Plateau. It's in Senegal. Dakar is the capital of Senegal. Mali, Mauritania, Guinea and Guinea-Bissau. The bodies of water that border Senegal are: West Coast is the Atlantic Ocean, south east coast is the Mediterranean Sea. These are the coordinates for Dakar, Senegal Latitude: 14° 40' 15 N, Longitude: 17° 26' 17 W. Dakar has a tropical climate. It gets very hot and humid but is usually cooled with a nice breeze. The Dakar Plateau forms the central district of the city of Dakar. The Cape Verde Peninsula was settled, no later than the 15th century, by an ethnic group. In 1536 they started using the using the export of slaves. The location is important because it is they have good fishing since they are right next to the Atlantic ocean. We are going to be traveling by plane. For a 1 bedroom hotel room with a plane ticket and rental car it is going to cost me about 1,815 dollars. No we didn't have any problems with our traveling. The distance between Kunming, China and Dakar, Senegal is 7564.65. I think the biggest difference between the last location I went top and this one is probably the ocean view. From Kunming I couldn't see any part of the ocean and in Dakar I'm right on the ocean.

Amazing Race Entry 3
Hey it's Redmango! The next location that I am going to is the Tibetan Plateau. It is located in Asia in the Yunnan Province. The capital is Kunming. It is bordered by Tibet, Sichuan, Guizhou Province, Burma and Dien Bien Province. This country isn't bordered by any water. The coordinates for Kunming are Latitude: 25° 2' 20 N, Longitude: 102° 43' 6 E. Kunming has little change in temperature throughout the year. The temperature ranges between 15 degrees C regularly and through the winter it is about 7.5 degrees C. Also in the Urban areas it can get up to about 19.7 degrees C. The Tibetan Plateau is the often called the "Roof Of The World." This plateau has high elevations it has the highest elevation in Earth History. The Eastern part of this plateau is filled with deep forested valleys and high mountain ranges. Important history is that during world war II the plateau played a crucial role by preventing the Japanese from taking control. The distance between Western Australia and Kunming, Asia I am not able to find. We are going to go by plane but I can't find any prices.

Amazing Race Entry 2
Hey it's Redmango! I am going to visit the Western Plateau in Australia. It is located in Western Australia. The capital of Western Australia is Perth. South Australia and the Northern Territory border Western Australia. Also the Indian Ocean borders that side of Australia. The coordinates are 27° S, 144° E. Rain seldom falls in this region and aside from the permanent waterholes. The average rainfall varies in different areas. The average amount is between 100-350. It has the largest drainage system and is composed of the remains of the ancient rock shield. The Western Plateau covers two thirds of Australia. In Western Australia there has been many earthquakes that have been known to occur since 1824 when the European Settles arrived. The last earthquake that has happened in Western Australia was in 2001.

Entry 5
Today is way different then the time that my character Eislek Butcher lived in. For one thing when a mayor is getting married he would have a private wedding. The government is different because 12 year olds can't work in a store like they could in my characters life. It's different with family because normally a 36 year old and her twin 39 year old siblings don't live together when they are that age.

Entry 4
Yesterday was so fun! The mayor got married to his true love. We all got to mingle with each other before the wedding and after. The ceremony was nice and then it came time for the reception. Everyone in our town was invited. We all danced and had a great time. Everyone got to meet up with each other when they normally couldn't because we were all working. But we all got the day off because it was the mayor that was getting married. The whole town had fun!

Entry 3
The only people I really interact with in my community is my family. But when we try to get the neighborhood kids to have fun we sometimes talk with their parents. Normally for breakfast I eat eggs from our chickens and milk, during lunch it is normally meat and some veggies from our garden and at dinner time it is rarely anything other then meat, veggies, fruit, milk and a little sweets for dessert. My family and I live in a village that has lots of hills and trees. We have some meadows but not many. We have a river behind our house that is where we normally get our drinking water but we have to boil the water to make sure that it is clean.

Entry 2
Our government is Republic. One of the laws that I agree with is that you have to be 12 years old to have a job. One that I disagree with is kids can't go to school until they become 14 because they are going to go to work instead of going to school. My family and I are Christians. There has been a few arguments because some of the mothers in our town want their children to start school at the age of 10.

Entry 1
Hi my name is Eislek Butcher. I am 36 years old. Me and my older twin siblings live in South Wales, Australia. I am an apprentice just like my brother and sister. There names are Nitsua and Eilyk. They are 39 years old but my parents died about 2 years ago. Our house isn't very nice. It is made up of logs it is cold but it gives us some shelter. My siblings and I like to round up all the neighborhood kids and play some games. Us girls have to cook, clean and tend to the animals. My brother has to cut the wood and protect us.
